Is your sexual behavior or porn viewing habits causing you problems?

SAA Literature: Are your sexual behaviors causing you problems?

This pamphlet from the ISO of SAA can help you and other newcomers determine if your behaviors are problematic and if SAA is right for you. It is free to download. If you find it helpful, download it and share it with others in the groups you attend.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I keep secrets from others?
  • Am I afraid that my partner, boss, or children will discover my sex or porn habits?
  • Have my problems or view habits gotten progressively worse?
    • Has the frequency or duration of my porn viewing behavior worsened?
    • Do I view or do things that I once said I would never do or view?
    • Is my behavior causing direct harm to others?
    • Does the porn I view involve violence, non-consensual sex, or illegal content?
    • Does my behavior or the porn I view "toe the line" between what is legal or illegal?
  • Does my behavior lack emotional connection and intimacy with others?
  • Have I tried to stop and failed?

Does this sound like you?

If you answered "yes" or "maybe" to the questions above, SAA may be right for you.

We can't tell you if you have a problem or not. Only you can decide.

We do, however, recommend that you attend about 6 SAA meetings before deciding. Listen to the shares and stories and see if you can relate. If you believe you can relate, find a sponsor and start working the Steps!

What's the next step?

If you think you have a problem, join us at a meeting

Next, start looking for a sponsor. While looking, you can start defining your sobriety using the three circles tool. Once you find a sponsor, review your circles with them.
